 Shocking The Devil Part 2

“We need to come back in line with the fact that we're not to fear man and fear the devil and fear our enemies; we're to fear God.”

Then He called His twelve disciples together and gave them power and authority over all demons, and to cure diseases.
Luke 9:1

DISCUSSION:
We’re going to continue with this idea of how we can submit to God and resist the devil. We can shock evil spirits, and it’s essentially like knocking them on the head with a big board or two-by-four, as I joke about. It’s not a joke because we have the ability in the Spirit to resist the devil after we’ve submitted to God. It says that he must flee from us. Some translations say flee as in terror.

What would cause an evil spirit to be afraid of you? It’s the fact that Jesus can speak through you by His spirit. I’ve known this when I dealt with evil spirits before. They knew when I was speaking by the Spirit that I was fully convinced and in faith, and they knew when I wasn’t fully convinced. We need to be bold. How we get there is realizing that we have an impartation of authority.

It’s not just the Dunamis power that is an explosive power that rose Jesus from the dead, which is also part of this; in the word power, there are two Greek words translated as power. One is for authority, and one is Dunamis, or dynamite power, that we often refer to. The Dunamis power is very spectacular. We saw that on the Day of Pentecost.

We see it in different manifestations of the spirit, and it’s very powerful. There’s also a silent, very powerful authority that is given to us under the same word as power. I want to emphasize that word for authority because I see that Jesus when He walked on the earth, wasn’t looking for a manifestation. He was a manifestation. He expressed this to me when I started Warrior Notes. He said, “Tell people they are the next move of God. They are the manifestation of God on earth.”

The Lord wants to work His miracles through you. He wants to show Himself strong to others through you. He’s here to help you, but He also wants everyone to know that He’s a good God and has worked this amazing salvation for people who want to come in and receive salvation. That’s what we’re all about here at Warrior Notes.

THE BATTLE IS GOD’S

2 Chronicles 20:15 AMP:
He said, “Listen carefully, all [you people of] Judah, and you inhabitants of Jerusalem, and King Jehoshaphat. The Lord says this to you: ‘Be not afraid or dismayed at this great multitude, for the battle is not yours, but God’s.

• God has joined with us because we’ve joined with Him.

• Remember, Jesus said, “I chose you. You didn’t choose me”
(John 15:16).

• He wants to see that we keep with repentance by producing fruit.

• He’s looking for fruit, and we are fruit.

• All the people that get redeemed and become part of the family of God that’s all fruit.

• That’s a result of Jesus being planted.

• God sent Jesus, and that body that was offered up (Jesus’s body) was offered up for a sin offering that produced fruit because it was a seed that was planted.

• God is looking for fruit, but He’s also joined in partnership with us.

We’re actually in partnership as well, and they’re saying here for this battle that we’re being presented with in Chronicles, the Lord said, “That’s my battle.” He said, “The battle is not yours; it’s God’s.” That means that all of the enemies of Israel had become the enemies of God. It’s something that’s not transferred in the church these days.
Discuss what it means that God has joined with us, and we are joined with Him.

We’re in a partnership, and the battle is not ours but God’s.

I noticed resistance from church leaders when these things are talked about because you realize that you have to separate yourself from the world. Then if the world sets itself against you and you’re doing what God wants you to do, you’re encountering people coming against God because you’re representing them. It gets into what we talked about last week, the fact that there is a word for power: authority. Being an ambassador means that if they’re going to mistreat you as an ambassador, they’re mistreating the person who sent you. It’s all through Jesus’ teaching because He said, “I sent you the prophets, you Pharisees. I sent them to you, and you killed them. You rejected what they said, and you killed them.” He said, “You’re going to kill me too, and you rejected my message.” He said this. He said, “You kill the prophets I sent you, but then you celebrate them as your heroes after they die. God says, “I’ve come with you in this, and this battle is not yours. I’m going to fight for you.” That’s the whole idea, this needs to come back to the church, and this needs to come back to all the individual believers.

GOD IS FIGHTING FOR YOU

Deuteronomy 3:22 AMP:
Do not fear them, for it is the Lord your God who is fighting for you.

• We need to start getting back into this.

• We’ve all been through hard times in the last couple of years with everything happening; the corruption in the world, diseases, and everything being done to deceive and manipulate us.

• You can lose your edge with these kinds of ideas that are being presented here, this strong doctrine of God’s protection, and the fact that He joins up with you.

I sense that that’s being lost, and people are judging that satan was allowed to come in and do certain things, that God has somehow changed His mind about protecting us and the Church.

That’s not true. That happened because we didn’t take our authority, and we didn’t stay strong and were being tested. We need to come back now in line with the fact that we’re not to fear man and the devil and our enemies.

We’re to fear God.

The command is, “Don’t fear them, for the Lord your God is fighting for you.” We need to start re-emphasizing that. I remind myself that every single day that the Lord’s fighting for me. Even though it seems like satan is allowed to do certain things, and I don’t always understand how he’s able to get through, I don’t sit there and just blame myself and get upset about it. I will do something about it.

I announced that the Lord is working with us and that He will perform miracles to confirm His word to the people and us.

You need to talk about this and discuss that we might be backing off just because we’ve had hard times. I’m not backing off; I’m not going to let you back off. All of you out there, we’ll stay strong; remember this.

THE LORD DEFEATS YOUR ENEMIES

Deuteronomy 28:7 AMP:

The Lord will cause the enemies who rise up against you to be defeated before you. They will come out against you one way but flee before you in seven ways.

• The people of Israel were brought out of Egypt, and God has given them these promises.

• He wants to convince all of His people that He’s their God.

• He’s the one that kept His promises and delivered them and brought them out of Egypt.

• They’re having a hard time with this.

• They’ve done some very hurtful things toward God, but He keeps reaching out to them and reminding them of the covenant.

• One of the things in the covenant was that if they obeyed Him and stayed with Him, He would make their enemies flee from them.

• God was using Moses strongly in Deuteronomy 28, and if you obey God and love Him, all these good things will happen to you, and this is part of that verse.

• The Lord will cause the enemies coming against you to flee, and they will scatter.

• You need to meditate on the scripture and bring it back into focus.

If I were you, I’d get these verses on cards and look at them all the time. I used to have a stack of cards all the time in my thirty years at Southwest. I had a stack of cards with me all the time, and I would get them out on breaks, between work and things that I had to do, my tasks. I would constantly be reiterating these things over the 30 years. I’m really strong in these areas because I had those cards.

That will help you not let these things slip from you because it’s really easy if you don’t have them before you; you know how it is. You suddenly realize you forgot, and it’s not been your focus. You need to start focusing on the promises of God in these areas and realize that as a Christian in the New Testament, you’re under a better covenant. The new covenant is a better covenant.

You have to realize that this is good; what we’re reading in the Old Covenant. Jesus coming and dying gave you the old covenant and the new covenant as well. The new covenant is based on better promises, so it’s got to be better than what I’m saying. We know this is all transferable because Jesus gave us the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions.

Romans 8:37 AMP:

Yet in all these things, we are more than conquerors and gain an overwhelming victory through him who loved us so much that he died for us.

• Here’s a New Testament scripture that is saying the same thing.

• We’re conquerors, more than conquerors.

• You need to encourage yourself and get this back and encourage your group, and everywhere you go, encourage believers everywhere.

• Tell them that they need to get back to God protecting us, taking up against our enemies, and solidifying the relationship in the covenant we have in the New Testament.

• These evil spirits need to be taught a lesson.

• You need to be forceful with them by rehearsing these scriptures, praying them out, and encouraging others by testifying.

• That kind of thing will shock devils and push them back.

PRAYER:

Father, I thank You so much for Your spirit. I thank You so much for the flow right now. Lord, we have learned so much from You about how You want to come in and stand with us, and you want to stand up against our enemies, and you want to fight our battles for us, Lord God. I thank You that You are present and that you are ever present at the time of battle, in times of trouble. Lord God, You’re going to enforce Your covenant in our lives. I thank You, Lord, for all the warriors, all the believers all over the world watching that they take hold of this truth and they come back, Lord, in line. I thank you, Father. I thank you that you are here, that you are in the midst of us, and you’re mighty in the name of Jesus.

1. Talk about how we may have been backing off as if God has changed His mind because we’ve seen how satan came in and was allowed to do certain things. What are we going to do about it?

3. Discuss: How God is working with us. He is going to perform miracles and confirm His word.
